Josh Brolin To Play Thanos In Marvel Cinematic Universe

Since the epic conclusion to the Avengers film, fans have been speculating as to when they would see the return of Thanos. His mysterious, yet epic appearance, during the first post-credit scene sent waves through fanboys and fangirls across the globe as anyone familiar with his story knows the importance that he plays in the world of comic books.

Although we don’t know his significance in films of the future, we finally know who will be playing The Mad Titan. It’s been reported and confirmed that Josh Brolin will be the actor taking up the role as Thanos; making appearances in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 3.

Months back Marvel claimed they had their Thanos actor lined up but were quiet on revealing who that actor would be. James Gunn has gone on record stating that the events of Guardians of the Galaxy will cross over and play a major part in Avengers 3. It has to also be assumed that the next Avengers film will also feel Thanos’ impact in a small way as well.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing! Guardians of the Galaxy is set to hit theaters August 1, 2014 and  Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently film and scheduled to hit theaters May 1, 2015.
